I first met Charles Stross at Boskone in Boston where he read his short story Bit Rot, a story about cannibal zombie robots in space. I was hooked. Charles is the author of The Laundry Files, a series about a secret British Government Organization that is tasked with fighting supernatural horrors. It is Lovecraft meets Pratchett. Charles is also writes hard science fiction. He is was a technical author and programmer; he uses his past career to sprinkle modern technology into his writing, much to my delight.
